3 idiots is an Indian comedy drama film. This film
was broke all opening box office records in Indian and its get the highest-grossing
Bollywood film of all time in overseas markets. Eventually this film was
reaches to more than US 190 million.
The
directed and edited by Rajikumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra in
this film ‘3 idiots’. The story was happening in the fictional Imperial College
of Engineering, one of the best colleges of engineering in Indian. There have
three main characters are the engineering students who share a room in a
dormitory building at the college. While Farhan and Raju are ordinary students
from moderate background. Rancho is the protagonist of the film, he is from a
rich family and a very intelligent student in the college. Farhan wants to
become a wildlife photographer, but his wants to fulfil father’s wish and has
joined in the college of engineering. Raju is a poor student from a poverty
family which is his father was suffering from a disease, he can’t afford to
take care his father, mother and sister. He wants to change his family fate, so
he work towards to the degree because he wants his family’s financial situation
get better. Three of them was become a best friends in their study life and
they was share their dream, emotion and strive to care each other very much. In
this film was showing out the issues in negative education will destroyed their
family relationship. Besides, the three main character have their own hobby or
passion will become their profession. So, they will be able to initiate to
excellence life.

During
the scene in this film students of the engineering college meet with the dean
of college, Professor Viru Sahastrabudhhe, all the college students called him
as Virus. At the time, Mr. Viru was giving a speech of the competition in his
college. He took out a pen and he says the pen is given by his director of the institute
when he was an excellence student. When Mr. Viru told to his students who was the
one of the excellence student will obtain the pen from him. After the speech,
Rancho was put up his hand and asks Mr. Viru the pencil instead of pen and can
save the cost. Mr. Viru after listen Rancho asked the question, but he could
not answer it and he became nervous because he felt very shame in front of his
students.
Then,
Rancho doesn’t like to the traditional way of study when he asked to explain
the meaning of the machine. While he just gives a simple answer to the lecturer.
All the students was laugh at him and the lecturer asks him to leave the
classroom. Rancho was displeased, he stand by himself and fight back to his
lecturer with the complete definition of a text book. The lecturer was embarrass and all the
students in that classroom also laugh at it. This film was showing out the
Asian education system in general is not to teach students, but can train the
students get grade A as a machine in the exam. Besides, in this film was
showing out of the traditional teaching way doesn’t completely effective, even
it will destroys student’s spirit to learn new knowledge. Learner is never
failure, learning in simple and correct, it’s never complicated. Learning is

A
student called Joy Lobo who was Mr. Viru fellow student and he had requested to
buy a train ticket for his father to participate his graduation ceremony.
However, Mr. Viru told to his father, Joy can’t graduate because his son was
break all the rules and also did a helicopter is useless. Joy was very upset
and throw the helicopter in the dustbin and Rancho pick up it. After the dance
sequence, Rancho wants give a surprise and sends back to Joy, but unfortunately
Joy suicide in his room. In the scene, there are given a message that students
look for suicide to escape the pressure in their study. In Asian, the students
always look for suicide to escape their pressure at head in the education. In
Joy’s funeral, Rancho very angry and blame to Mr. Viru as a killer in this case
because Mr. Viru treat him very harsh. In the scene was point out the education
still being in the old system and doesn’t accept the new education in our
education environment. While Rancho was trick anger with Mr. Viru cause Joy’s
death.

In
this film, Rancho, Farhan and Raju was face many setbacks even they kicked out from the college. Meanwhile, Rancho and his two friends were broke into a wedding
party. At the time, Rancho was saw a lady and falls in love with her who knows
the lady is Mr. Viru daughter Pia. Rancho
was get a shock when he knows Pia is the daughter of Mr. Viru. The message is
giving us to realize your enemy will become friends or lover. Mr. Viru very
dislike Rancho, Farhan and Raju, so they also continue to anger with him.

sister wants goes into labour but have a heavy storm at the same time. Mr. Viru
wants to take his elder daughter go to hospital but can’t through by because
his car was broken. So, Rancho and his friends help Mr. Viru and his elder
daughter. Mr. Viru very appreciate Rancho help him and he gives Rancho that his
treasure pen as him an extraordinary student in his prestigious college.
Ten
years after, Chatur wants to revenge on Rancho for his at the speech night and promised
he can become more successful person than Rancho. He called Rancho’s friends,
Farhan and Raju to their previous college. He lies to Farhan and Raju, he has
found Rancho, Farhan and Raju very angry with Chatur. Meanwhile, they started a
journey to find Rancho, but Chatur has a very important interview. Moreover, Farhan
and Raju know Pia want to get marry with other, so go to stop her.
Farhan,
Raju and Pia together go to find Rancho in Ladakh. When they arrive in Ladakh, they
see a group of zealous Ladakh children who are motivated by love of the knowledge.
After that, they found Rancho beside the sea, Farhan, Raju and Pia were very
happy to meet him. Chatur very angry because he was miss an interview with Mr. Phunsukh
Wangdu. Later, Rancho was picked up his phone and call to Chatur to turn around
and meet him for business partner, Rancho was reveal his real name. Chatur was
horrified and falls his knees. On the other hand, Farhan, Raju and Pia just realize
Rancho real name is Phunsukh Wangdu. Lastly, Rancho, Farhan, Raju and Pia very
happy and appreciate their friendship.

like to make-up very thick can showing out their appearance especially their
eye. Furthermore, the director always
use close up to present the actor and actress emotional.

Bollywood film always has dancing, especially older one. Its point out the
Indian like to dance, so for some of the film there have dance scene. When they
want to dancing most of them will fall in love or want to face some problems. Besides,
song also very important in Indian film because if just dancing without song
will felt weird. There are two dancing sequence in this film, first one is Rancho,
Farhan, Raju and male students was song with the dance when they in the
bathroom. They are in their college’s bathroom, they sing the song and dance
together with splash of water everywhere. The second dancing scene is Pia
imagination with Rancho was confess their love to each other and the scene was
in under the rain. For this two dancing scene are usage of the water, its can
convey the actor and actress feeling. Dance and song is Indian feature in it,
also their culture. Furthermore, when the main character dancing will dance
with a group together.

film feel more in Indian style and with flowing of the hair with the wind. They
always usage the soft songs in the film, its can emphasize Indian culture and
can gives an exotic feeling in this film.

Bollywood films, there social issues often in love or family. So, they often
shooting in love or family story in the film. Besides that, in Bollywood films
also have shooting dreams scene. This is represented the Indian life and their
culture. For example in this film, there have given a message about the
education in their study life. The negative education will destroys the family

Bollywood film have interval because there can take a ten minutes break such as
